Your idea, wired in.
A technical partner for people making something of their own: furniture with technology inside, rooms that respond, one-off pieces that have to just work.
For people making something new.
You have the idea, the design or the piece. I’m looking for people who want a partner to make the technology part of it work.
Custom projects
The ideas that don’t come in a box, and that nobody sells off the shelf.
Technology in furniture
Pieces where the technology lives inside the wood, the cabinet or the wall, and disappears into the design.
Creative custom work
Makers, designers, artists and builders working on something one of a kind.
A partner to build it
Someone to make the technology part work, alongside you.
Get your movie night under control.

Open Source Home Assistant Stream Deck Panel
I’ve been doing home automation since I was 14, scripting with X10 and HomeSeer (using the very wizard you’ll find under the hat on samperet.com) and programming macros on remote controls. My largest challenge with home automation is the tactile experience. Enter the Stream Deck.
A Stream Deck is a set of programmable buttons, each with an LED screen behind it. Using it for music selection feels like a jukebox. Managing lights or enabling macros feels like a dream.
I built an open-source app to control the Stream Deck from a Linux computer or a Raspberry Pi.

A page of albums, like flipping through the jukebox.
The volume, drawn across the cover as it changes.
The same panel on the 15-key Stream Deck.
I’ve been automating home systems since 2000: 26 years and counting.
Working on something?
Pick a time for a half-hour call and tell me what you’re making and where the technology comes in.
Rather write? sam@peret.net
